Job Description
The Data Analyst III is a critical contributor responsible for supporting operational needs and driving data-driven decision-making through advanced data analysis and cross-functional collaboration. This role oversees the entire data lifecycle, from designing and building databases, data models, and data warehouse strategies to implementing standards and ensuring robust data integrity. Leveraging expertise in querying and scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R) and visualization tools, the analyst will create insightful reports, visualizations, and dashboards that deliver actionable takeaways and strategic advice to stakeholders across the company. This is a full-time position with remote, hybrid and on-site opportunities available.

Responsibilities
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and efficient data models (conceptual, logical, and physical)
- Constructing data sets, monitoring data quality, troubleshooting and resolving database issues to ensure data integrity
- Collaborating with engineering and business teams to design models that support current and future data needs
- Conducting in-depth analyses to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies within data
- Communicating findings and presenting actionable insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
- Assisting in building and optimizing ETL pipelines
- Validating, cleaning, and transforming raw data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and integrity
- Creating polished and insightful dashboards and reports using Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Power BI, Superset, or Tableau, to support strategic initiatives
- Utilizing scripting and querying tools like Python, R or SQL, statistical methods, and data modeling to produce reports and data files
- Working closely with product managers, operations, and engineering teams to translate business questions into data requirements and deliver solutions that align with strategic goals
- Maintaining high-quality documentation for data structures, pipelines, and processes
- Contributing to best practices in data governance and modeling standards
- Continuously building out self-service data models that can be shared internally with the company
- Assisting with communication and handling tickets pulled from the Data Requests internal Slack channel
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics)
- 4–6 years of professional experience in data analytics, with demonstrated experience in data modeling
- Strong SQL proficiency and hands-on experience working with relational and columnar databases (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, PostgreSQL)
- Experience with Python, R, or other scripting languages for data analysis and automation
- Proven ability to design and build robust data models that support business intelligence and analytics use cases
- Proficiency in Business Intelligence (BI) and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to business stakeholders Preferred:
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data pipeline frameworks
- Exposure to cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Machine learning experience
- Extract transfer tooling experience preferred with Fivetran experience
- Filtering reports experience
Pay
Based on the Sacramento region, the new hires target salary for this role is $110k - $125k.
Inductive Automation’s ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Although it is not typical for an individual to start at the top end of the range for the position, compensation decisions are dependent on: the facts and circumstances of each case, work location, job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training; and other business and organizational needs.
