Level 1 Core Virtual Eastern Training

Course Description

US Eastern Virtual Course - This class is delivered online in the US Eastern time zone.

Learn the basics of developing in Ignition. The Core course will help students become familiar with the Ignition platform and its core modules by building a project throughout the week. Leverage the Tag system by creating UDTs and Alarms, as well as many features of Perspective to build real time and historical user interfaces. Best practices and common pitfalls are addressed throughout the class. By the end of this class, students will have a basic understanding of the core functionality of Ignition.

Length: 5 days

Topics covered: Perspective components and bindings, navigation, Tags/UDTs, Historical data storage, security, Alarming, Alarm notification, scripting, and Transaction Groups. Review the course Itinerary to find more information about the content of class.

This is a level 1 class, prior experience with Ignition is recommended but not required.

Suggested class pre-requisites: Complete the Inductive University.

Completion of this class offers a free attempt at the Core Certification test.

Virtual Requirements

This class is delivered online using a cloud hosted Virtual Machine for each student. Connection details will be emailed to students the week before class starts. AWS Workspaces and GoToWebinar meetings will be set up 1 week before class starts and connection details will be created using the enrolled student’s name and email address. It is recommended to test your AWS connection the week before class starts.

Recommended equipment: A strong internet connection and a computer with 2 monitors - You will be working in Ignition and viewing the instructor's screen. Connecting from a home network generally works without issues, connections from a company network or VPN may fail due to port requirements, group policy, or other network settings.
